It's sometimes amazing how some Republicans blame everything wrong on President Obama, but some Democrats are just as guilty of such behavior. Case in point: Liberal comedian Bill Maher last night on HBO inexplicably blamed the Casey Anthony acquittal on Republicans.
"And before you accuse me of equating the Casey Anthony verdict with Republican thinking, save your breath. I am," Maher said on his show "Real Time." "I'm saying if you're a working class American who still votes Republican, then you don't get to b---- about that verdict ... Yes, Republican base, you are just like that jury."
But refusing an opportunity to come across as more rational, guest Ann Coulter decided to do the exact thing Maher was doing, politicizing the verdict: "They were all Democrats. I bet they were," Coulter said of the jury."
Let's hope both Maher and Coulter were simply mocking the knee-jerk reactions of others to politicize non-political events. But somehow I doubt it.
