- Subsurface Technology Provider BP with high quality expert personnel for technical projects and Enable the Function to support the delivery of Safe, Compliant & Reliable Operations Through the codification of our capability, by Developing, Maintaining and Enhancing our Engineering Technical Practices (ETP's) and Recommended Technical practices. It also oversees the application of Development and new technologies.
- The prime remit of the Base Management team is to Provide expertise and technology to Enhance delivery of BP's Proved Developed (PD) Reserves, manage the decline of our Reservoirs and wells to support production and delivery over the near term. This is a Highly capable team with 3 Advisors and Several Petroleum Engineering Community of Practice (CoP) Leaders. The team is multi-cultural Both multi-disciplined and and contains a cross section of people fluent in petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering and production Operations.
- The STS Base Management team over 14 people compris based in Sunbury, Houston and Aberdeen. This includes in Waterflood Management Specialists, Well Management, Sand Production, Production Forecasting, Surveillance, and Artificial Lift.
- Sand production from wells (and STI management) is a significant challenge to-many regions, Both from an S & OR Business Impact and perspective. A significant and Increasing Proportion of our production from sand prone Reservoirs eat, and how we manage and Operate These wells over Can Have Their lifetime to significant impact on the performance of the well, With Respect to sand production. Production Losses due to sand are a considerable Proportion of the total reservoir & Loss and a well de esta role key aspect to Understand These Will Be Loss and to Work with the Regions to Develop Appropriate Mitigation plans.
- This position Will help build our teams support capability In This critical skill area. Also it presents a Successful Development Opportunity for the candidate to Develop networks and build Extensive technical BP Within the Communities, the Regions and to Broaden Their skills and Deeper across the range of Base Management Activities.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree in Engineering and / or Sciences;
- BSc or MSc in Petroleum Engineering preferred
- 5 to 10 years experience in petroleum / completions engineering and with strong demonstrable experience in managing / sand prone Optimising production from wells.
- A good Understanding of bp's PSM Processes and tools (bean-up tool-kit) desirable.
- Self starter, With Understanding of Petroleum Engineering principles and practices including reserves performance, surveillance, well management (including well integrity) and system optimization.
- Competent in use of PE Toolkit (Prosper / MBAL / GAP) preferred.
- Ability to engage in providing Operations and Influence is an advantage.
- Experience in technical mentoring and other engineers of challengers is an Advantage
