If you follow our weekly Style Superstar feature, you know that we’ve got a groove. Every Friday, we pick the week's best and worst dressed celebs, then highlight the sartorial lessons that you, our lovely readers, can learn from the stars. This week, we were a bit annoyed pleased to see that all of our favorite stars looked really good. Shocking! To switch things up a bit, since change is always a good thing, we hereby declare a tie for this week’s Style Superstar honor. Keep reading to see which brunette actresses made our jaws drop in ethereal ensembles.
Dedicated Crushers will know that Emma Watson is one of our absolute favorite fashionistas. On her whirlwind promotional tour of the final "Harry Potter" flick, she hasn’t disappointed. Though her black Rafael Lopez frock and gray Oscar de la Renta ball gownwere both beautiful, we think this A-line Elie Saab Couture dress with Giuseppe Zanotti heels is utter perfection. The appliqués, thin belt and flouncy skirt jazz up what could have been just another pretty little dress. We also love how Emma lowered the neckline a bit from the runway version, creating a more youthful, flattering cut. Also, is that a little hint of cleavage we see peeping through? You go, Hermione!
Anne Hathaway surfaced in Paris this week for the Valentino Couture show and The White Fairy Tale Love Ball. We don’t even have time to ponder that insane event name, though, because we’re so enamored with Anne’s stunning Valentino dress from the Spring 2006 Couture collection. Though the gown is five years old (vintage!), it still looks modern, fresh and exquisitely elegant. Anne mirrored the original runway styling of the dress, opting for red lips, black-lined eyes and minimal jewelry, but she makes this look her own with tousled wavy hair and a playfully regal wreath, reminiscent of her "Princess Diaries" roots. Kitschy? Yes, but if there’s a place where this works, it’s a fairy tale-themed fashion event in The City of Light.
