The World Cup is over, the world premieres have come and gone, and now it's finally time to start saying goodbye to "Harry Potter."
Tune into MTV Movies Blog all week long for our series of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" primers, where we'll look back on each film in the series and highlight the details you need to remember going into the grand finale. For a full recap on the previous films, head here!
After the jump, we break down some integral moments from "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" that end up being very important come the series' conclusion.
The Prophecy
"Neither can live while the other survives." We now know the prophecy Sybil Trelawney spoke refers to Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, but at the time she made it, another boy could have easily fit the bill: Neville Longbottom. That would have been a very different story to be sure, but Neville still gets to become the hero in this final installment (though as Matthew Lewis told us, Neville probably could have finished the series in four books). We also find out a bit more about why Voldemort decided it was Harry and not Neville who fulfilled the prophecy, but that's for the viewer to discover when they see the movie.
Dumbledore's Army
This installment might be called "The Order of the Phoenix," but the real rebellion movement at its heart is Dumbledore's Army. Harry, Ron and Hermione start a secret society during their fifth year at Hogwarts to teach their peers spells that will actually protect them against the Dark Arts, and that bond stays strong through "Deathly Hallows: Part 2." It is a wonderful surprise to see Neville and Luna become the leaders after the Big Three go on their quest for horcruxes.
The Room Of Requirement
But Dumbledore's Army would never be able to meet if it wasn't for Harry's discovery of the Room of Requirement. The Room becomes one of the most important locations for the young rebels throughout the book, and houses a very important artifact in "Part 2."
Snape's Worst Memory
During his attempt to teach Harry how to use occlumency, Harry managed to worm his way inside Professor Snape's head and sees what the Potions professor's worst memory was. As is part of the "Potter" lore, Snape went to Hogwarts at the same time as the marauders -- James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew -- and also the then-Lily Evans. The memory shows James and Sirius tormenting Snape, and ends with Lily trying to protect him and Snape calling her a "mudblood," but Harry's initial guess as to why this was Snape's worst memory wasn't quite right.
