Facebook Chat

We have been checking out Google+ over the last week or so and we are pretty impressed with it so far. More and more people are joining up to the new social network and we are now wondering if Facebook’s Chat and other problems will push their users to Google+.
There was an article added to OSM recently where we were talking about Facebook’s changes to chat and let’s face it… The changes really aren’t very good are they? The feedback we have received has been all negative and normally we would take this with a pinch of salt as people simply don’t like change, but on this occasion Facebook we feel has certainly made a boo boo.
When we were talking about Facebook chat, we noticed that not all of the people that are online actually appear in the list. Also, if you want to see people whose name appears further down the list alphabetically then you can’t! Facebook’s sidebar chat has certainly not been done as well as it could have been. Something else we have noticed since the previous post is when you try to share an article or a website, the sidebar pushes the page across and you can’t see what you are typing!
Regular readers will already know that Google+ has surpassed 10 million users and is already eyeing up 20 million marker. If only Facebook would add a scroll bar or something like that to be able to see all your friends that are online then it would be problem solved. One other thing that Facebook has that Google doesn’t and definitely doesn’t want is the number of Facebook scams we have seen appearing.
The scams are becoming a frequent topic for us to talk about at OSM, we find them, tell you about the dangers they pose and then help you to remove them if you have already fallen victim to them. Already we are left impressed with Google+ and it’s only in the beta stage, Google+ is being touted as the fastest growing social network ever.
We are left wondering just how long it will take for Google+ to catch up with and overtake Twitter and then the same thing with Facebook. As things stand, Twitter is sitting at more than 200 million users and Facebook has over 600 million users. Our very own Debbie Turner has also asked a question, she wants to know if Google+ will make you totally quit Facebook or not?
